BIG DATA ANALYTICS FOR BUSINESS BENEFITS
On August 25th 2018, MSM MBA held the Coffee Talk #24 "Big Data Analytics for Business Benefits" to provide the attendees with the information regarding the important aspects of the Big data ecosystem and the purpose of Big data analysis and ultimately for making decision on the enterprise level. This event welcomed nearly 100 attendees including MSM faculty, MSM alumni & students, other companies’ staffs & managers of all levels.
The Coffee Talk began with interesting videos about fun definition of Big data. During the presentation, Mr. Nguyen Ha Tuan (MSM MBA Intake 18) - Marketplace Services Leader, Global Technology Services - IBM Vietnam – mentioned about the importance of technology in this new era and how IBM internally transform from using traditional system to Big data ecosystem. IBM also applies the Big data and its analytics for clients in banking and healthcare segments. (Click on the hyperlink to watch the videos)
The CFT was continued by the presentation of Prof. Khaled Wahba about the the important aspects of the Big Data ecosystem and its projection on the Enterprise level. Dr. Khaled define the main objects or components of the big data ecosystem and to discuss how the data is flowing through its ecosystem initiated from its origin and sources to its destinations for the purpose of analysis and ultimately for decision making.
During the presentation, Prof. Khaled mentioned about the personals who are responsible within the organization for plotting the ecosystem blueprint, designing the infrastructure, purchasing the technology, deploying the systems, integrating the data, executing the applications, maintaining the data quality, governing the data usage and visualizing the outcomes.
Following the presentations were questions and answers. Many interesting questions were raised to the panel.
